it seems our age is the \u201cage of fear,\u201d with its attendant building of walls and barriers, not bridges.\u00a0 We echo the prayer of Walter Brueggemann (<em>Prayers for a Privileged People<\/em>):<\/p>\n<p>You, you beyond the smell and the din and the smoke.<br \/>\nYou, beyond our hopes and our hates.<br \/>\nYou, our beginning before time, our end beyond time<br \/>\nBe present in ways we cannot imagine.<br \/>\nBe present \u2013 \u00a0 save us from our power<br \/>\nsave us from our violence,<br \/>\nsave us from our fear and hatred,<br \/>\nsave us as only you can do.<br \/>\nSave us as you have before saved us &#8212;<br \/>\nin love and power<br \/>\nin compassion and justice<br \/>\nin miracle and in waiting<br \/>\nSave us because we are your people<br \/>\nand because this is your world.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christmas 2012 From the Land Where The Three Abrahamic Faiths Meet At full moon, in late October \u2013 it\u2019s colder now &#8211;we went to the roof of the Mariam Bawardi Elementary School and took this picture with the Church of the Sermon of the Mount in the background. \u00a0 The church is part of the &hellip;
