Abuna Chacour to Visit Michigan in July

We are delighted to announce that Abuna (Father) Elias Chacour, founder of the Mar Elias Educational Institutions (MEEI) in Ibillin, Israel, will return to Grosse Pointe Memorial Church (GPMC) on Tuesday, July 27 at 7:30 pm, in the church’s sanctuary. Abuna’s visit is organized by Pilgrims of Ibillin.

Instrumental in the creation of Pilgrims of Ibillin (POI), GPMC has remained faithful to POI’s support of MEEI, through financial donations, board service by a number of members and staff, and many, many visits over the years.
Join us on July 27 to hear from Abuna Chacour about life today in Israel and the West Bank, and his school’s ongoing work to foster peaceful approaches to resolving conflict in the land that Jesus walked.
Friends and family are welcome to join you. Remember, we do not know how many more visits we will be blessed with by dear Abuna, and we consider this is a rare opportunity.
