  • Essrea Cherin writes about the situation in Palestine reminds us of why we need to support MEEI and our peace partners as they contribute to a future where all will live in dignity and respect regardless of religion or ethnic identity.
  • Father Chacour has sent what he titles, “A Christmas Crying Letter” you can read the letter in full at this link. “We are surviving physically and we are deeply wounded emotionally and spiritually. Indeed we don’t understand the diabolic game that is unfolding in our beautiful country. That country which was chosen by the Lord Jesus Christ, for his incarnation.”
  • MEEI Emergency Safe Rooms need to be renovated so students can return to school as soon as possible. $130,000 is needed to created safe rooms. We’ve met our match of $40,000 and have raised over $110,000 – so close to achieving our goal. Can you help? Year-end fund raising has begun.
  • Hope School Laptops and Tablets – we have sent Hope School funds to purchase laptops and tablets for those students whose families are too poor to afford the devices needed to keep the students pursuing their education virtually.
  • The First Advent in Palestine book discussion will be via Zoom. Kelley Nicondeha’s book The First Advent in Palestine invites readers to examine the advent narratives of Matthew and Luke from the perspective of the original Palestinian.
    Dates: 5 Wednesday nights, from Nov. 29 – Dec. 27

  • Living Stones Study Tour – Early Bird Deadline Extended -While it’s hard to imagine being able to return to the Holy Land at this moment, we are still aiming to bring a group to the Holy Land in April 2024. With so many uncertainties about the future, we are shifting the Early Bird Deadline to January 15. Learn more about this trip here.
  • Pilgrims is seeking graphic design volunteer assistance. Please email essrea@pilgrimsofibillin.org
  • We are hearing from folks who have held group book discussions for We Belong to the Land, a book by Abuna Chacour and they are requesting more copies for different groups. What they have found is that the readings and discussions are helping people make sense out of the current events. Books and study guides are still available. Hundreds of books have been distributed and many using our Book Discussion Guide have been inspired by Father Chacour’s story.
